Mood: Hungry
Music: Weezer - Island in the Sun

Have I mentioned how f*ckin' hot it is here in this town? I step outside for 2 minutes and I feel like Superman swooped down and tossed me into the sun. Eeesh.

Anywhoooo....I went to see Finding Nemo last night! I'm a sucker for Disney movies, so I'd probably say that it was good whether I liked it or not, but really, who thought a movie about a fish could be so good? :) The only downside is having to sit in a theater full of kids who cry whenever a shark comes onscreen. I guess it could have been worse. I remember I was once on a plane from Taipei to San Francisco and there was this kid sitting across from me who wouldn't stop screaming about how much he had to pee. So then his mom would take him to the bathroom, but she told him that he'd have to put on his shoes first. Then he wouldn't stop screaming out how he didn't want to put his shoes on. And then he'd scream again about how much he had to pee. And then more screaming about how he didn't want to put his shoes on, ad infinitum. Oh, and it was a 13 hour flight. Lovely. -_- But at any rate....Finding Nemo was good. Go see it. ^_^

Haha, we have these cans of green tea in our house and they have the stupidest name possible for green tea. It's called "GREEN POWER". I keep on thinking that if I just tacked on the word "ranger" to the end of that title, I could be raising hell with a giant green mechanical dinosaur. XD

Holy crap...my cable went out for 2 days and I was instantly reduced to a helpless, mumbling potato. I never realized how much I depended on cable until now....once the cable went out, my 2 main sources of entertainment for the summer were gone. *Poof*...just like that, I no longer had internet access or cable TV. I'd sit at my computer and stare at the error page for a while. Then I'd click refresh. And then I'd stare at the error page again. After about the 32nd time, I think my brain melted. We still got TV channels from Taiwan and China on our satellite dish, but who wants to watch endless news reports about SARS when you could be watching Family Guy on Cartoon Network? Anywho, the cable's back, so that means I can surf the internet and watch Family Guy later tonight. And that's all that matters right now....nyahaha.

LAKE Chang: ok the old saying is girls are sugar and spice and everything nice... since your name is CINDYrella we can ONLY assume that your spice is CINammon cine cinamon and Cindy can't be spelled woithout CIN. but yet.. when you think about it... through sound Cin sounds like sin which isn't at all a nice thing so we are kinda back at square 1 right?

Haha....interesting point, I guess. :P

Anywhoo....Deran taught me how to drive a stick shift today. And the engine stalled only twice! Ok ok, so I'm not going to be speeding down the highway anytime soon, but going from 1st gear to 3rd is a start, right?

Oh, and I'd just like to take this moment to say that emulators rock. Without a Super Nintendo emulator, I never would have discovered the glory of Chrono Trigger. And now I'm working on Final Fantasy 6. Bwahahaha, I'm finally able to experience the 16-bit gaming system I never had! *Sob*....emulators are a beautiful thing.

You know how they say you need 3-4 servings of milk per day? Bite into a jalapeno pepper full of seeds and you'll get those servings covered in 5 minutes flat. It works, I promise...I got full on milk alone after biting into a seed-filled jalapeno at dinner today. Oy vey.

The best part about being home? The food, hands down. There's nothing like mom's cooking after eating college cafeteria food for nine months....*drool*. W00t....homecooked meals rock! *big grin*

Ok ok....so I'm over two weeks late in doing this, but here they are: TASA formal pictures. I don't have much, but I think it'll do. ^_^

Bling bling for the dress. That freakin' thing trailed glitter like a mofo. I usually pick out your usual slinky black dresses, but I guess it was time for a change. Everyone who knows me knows that I HATE dressing up...but I'll have to say that Minhee did an awesome job with my hair and makeup....it was just kinda weird. Let's just say not too many people recognized me that night. ^ ^;;

Possibly the best picture of the night. Right after the formal, I return to my "natural environment". Looks like there are some things that dresses and makeup just can't hide. *big grin*

So there. I've posted the pictures. My soul may now rest in peace. :P

On another note, I went to see The Matrix Reloaded today. Kind of a disappointment...I still think that The Matrix is going to be our modern day version of Star Wars. You've got a movie trilogy with high-tech special effects and a lead actor who looks absolutely clueless. Yes, my friends, Keanu Reeves is going to be the next Mark Hamill. Watch the credits in your future Saturday morning cartoons. I'm sure we'll see his name in voice acting credits someday.

Anywho, everyone in my house has gone to bed. Time for me to follow suit. G'nite!

After nine months of living in a dinky little dorm, showering with flip flops on, and eating a diet consisting of ramen and pizza, I'm back home in Houston. ^_^ Anywho....I suppose I'll follow suit and sum up all the things I've learned in my first year of college:

• ALWAYS bring your key when you take a shower, whether the community bathroom door is locked or not. Standing around in the hallway in nothing but a towel isn't fun at all.
• Not all frat guys are beer-chugging perverts.
• Most sorority girls on the other hand pretty much fit their stereotypes.
• Grocery shopping can be extremely fun. Especially when you're jousting with giant foam noodles.
• Ordering chicken wings at 2 am is perfectly normal.
• Service matters. I'd rather eat at a restaurant with a friendly staff than at one where the waiters give crappy service and then chase you down if you don't leave them enough tip.
• Cafeteria food can be quite frightening.
• Studying biology for too long makes you start to think that your school mascot looks like a uterus.
• Sushi kicks ass. I'm never eating cooked fish again.
• You could go for a whole school year without paying for food or doing laundry by bumming off of the free food and t-shirts at various club meetings.
• Some of the most amazing people walk into your life when you least expect it.

My first year of college has been everything that I'd expected and more. Words just aren't enough to thank all those who have made these past nine months so memorable. I'll definitely be ready to head back to school in the fall. ^_^

Mood: Waiting for finals to end...
Music: Coldplay - The Scientist

*Sob*....my roommate moved out yesterday. I don't know how I lucked out in getting such a great roomie, but I'm glad I did. Thanks for a great 9 months, Van. ^_^

On another note: moving out means your room has to be spotless by the time you leave. That means I've got a lot of dusting and wiping to do within the next couple of days. And for the life of me, I can't understand why they're called "dust bunnies". The word "bunny" usually has a cute connotation to go with it. You know, hop hop with floppy ears. A monstrous ball of dust doesn't quite give me the same fuzzy feeling that a rabbit would. A giant hunk of dust signals to me a stuffy nose and red sticky eyes. So I run for the hills. Blargh. So until I think of a better name for "dust bunnies", I think I'll call them "rabid dust bunnies" for now. :P

And a happy early birthday to Leanne!! Kidnapping you was fun...glad you liked the poster. ^_^ Oh, and speaking of Leanne's early birthday, has anyone out there tried the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans made by Jelly Belly? These things are fun....not necessarily good-tasting, but they're fun. We were trying various beans, and we had a cup to spit them out in if they were too nasty for us to handle. It almost looked like we were chewing tobacco or something. Anywho...Grass is somewhat decent, but I'll have to agree that Sardine is probably the nastiest flavor in the box so far....*puke*. Anywho, here's a complete list of all available flavors. I didn't even realize there were so many....my box of beans has just 8 out of that huge list of strange flavors. I think the funniest part of this Every Flavor Bean idea is that even though people know what kind of weird flavors are in the box, they're willing to eat them anyway.

And I know everyone wants me to post TASA formal pictures. I'll do it after finals are over. Really I will!

Oh and I forgot to mention....yes, I went to the TASA formal. And not only did I slip into a dress, I whored myself out to my friend Minhee and let her put makeup on me. Me putting on a dress usually means that hell has a bit of frost around. But makeup? That's a weather report of subzero temperatures down there. I'll post pictures later. Maybe. :P

Tiramisu gelato = heaven in a little pink cup. What can I say...I've got expensive taste in food. The way to this girl's heart is definitely through her stomach.

On another note: You know a guy is a keeper when he puts up posters on the 7th floor laundry room announcing your 6 month anniversary. A very happy 6 months, Deran! ^_^

At any rate....I'm way too perky for finals week. But whoever said that was a bad thing? *grin*
