Wahahaha....you know what's cool? Buying a pizza for 5 bucks. XD Me, Anthony, Deran, and Marsha were waiting downstairs for Joe and Leanne so we could all leave for some Vietnamese noodles. While we were impatiently waiting to go eat, a pizza guy walks by and asks if anyone wants a sausage pizza for 5 bucks. We asked what was wrong with the pizza, and he told us that the people at Papa John's messed up the order and made an extra pizza, so he was trying to get rid of it.
Anthony: Why don't we just take the pizza?
Deran: But I want pho...
Me: Dude....it's only 5 bucks!
Deran: O_O
Needless to say, we forked over the 5 bucks and got ourselves a nice warm sausage pizza. :P Bwahahaha, we should just wait around on Friday nights for more 5 dollar pizzas.

Gasp in awe. I just went and bought a DRESS. O_O
I went to the mall today to do some more sweater hunting. After shopping through a few stores, Gee Lee mentions that the date auction that she's going to be in requires semi-formal attire. Little did I realize that semi-formal didn't mean khakis and a nice top. >_< 4 hours
later I was toting a slinky black spaghetti strap dress....oy vey. Oh well....one perk is that I bought a deck of Set cards and split the price with Deran....woohoo!!
But anywho....I guess I'll just leave everyone with a quiz here before I go:

*Chainsaws commenting server*....WORK, DAMN YOU, WORK!!! Argh......enetation's been down ALL DAY.....I want my comments back!!! ;_; Ugh....and I was really interested in seeing what people would say about the 3 wishes thing too....hmph.
Bleh....at any rate, I went to a discussion about Spirited Away today....very cool. ^_^ It was like sitting in my old English class again, just that we were analyzing anime instead of books! Bwahahahahaha. I was actually pretty surprised with the kind of people that were there....I was expecting a bunch of anime dorks stuffed into a room, but there were a lot more older people in there...I think some of them might have been professors here at UT. Hehe, you just never know who will show up. ^_^ At any rate, it was very cool.....kinda makes me want to watch it again to look for all the themes and the such that were mentioned. ^_^
In other news.....I MADE A 96 ON MY HISTORY MIDTERM!!!! W00t!!! Oh man.....I was feeling pretty good about that exam, but I SOOOO didn't expect a grade that high. Nyahahaha....I'm just beaming with pride right now. But I know that's all going to be shot down as soon as I open my chemistry book here.....*sob*.
Oh, and as for the question about the 3 wishes....I'm still thinking about mine....but I'll post them sooner or later, once I figure them out. ^_^

Wow.....I haven't blogged in 3 days?? That must be a record. O_o;;
A big thanks to Steph for bringing back my trenchcoat and my Monty Python DVD! ^_^ And many condolences to her upon the death of her poor goldfish. RIP. :P
Anywho....wow....I don't even know where to begin about my weekend. There's just too much to write. On Friday I went to dinner at Madam Mam's with Anthony and Deran, and then I tagged along with them to see their piano TA's recital. It was a good performance, other than this one modern piece that she played. It was one of those pieces that either make you stare blankly and wonder when it will end or it'll make you want to go dig up whoever composed it, revive his body, and kill him all over again.....blah. I don't like modern pieces.....I swear composers these days probably grab a monkey and let it bang the keys for some time while the composer himself dictates....sheesh.
So anywho, that was only part of Friday night. As for the rest of the weekend....there's too much for me to type, but I can make a list of 8 things that made my weekend kick ass:
1) Food at Gee Lee's apartment
2) Playing poker with oreos
3) Eating the good oreos before you lose them in poker
4) Playing mahjong
5) Playing mafia
6) Making omelettes at 3 am
7) Watching Colin roll around on the ground on his knees
8) Having a good time and having good friends to spend it with ^_^

But alas, one must take the fat with the lean. Because I was out the whole weekend, I didn't study worth crap for my bio exam. So I did nothing but study for bio yesterday.....and it somehow got to the point that I forgot to eat dinner because I was studying. Now THAT is a bad sign....and a signal for me not to put off my work like that again!! Gahhhhh.....oh well....I know I probably didn't make an A on my exam, but at least I was better off than I was yesterday afternoon....if you asked me anything about sodium/potassium pumps then, you might as well have asked a jar of mayonnaise. :P
But anywho....that's all the blogging I'll do for now....I've learned my lesson about procrastination from this past weekend...I'm hitting the books.

All I can say is that all that wasabi definitely killed a few brain cells....whew.

Gahhhhh......why do turtlenecks have to be the "thing" right now??? I just got back from a trip to the Gap, and all they had were turtlenecks!! I don't like turtlenecks that much....blah....they make me feel kinda claustrophobic. >_< Oh well....I ended up buying this red one that was on sale...it's not too bad, but I still can't say that turtlenecks are exactly my favorite articles of clothing. *shrug*
Blah....I forgot that Austin's weather is quite different from Houston's....so right now I'm lacking in long-sleeved clothing. ^ ^;; Blah....I love cold weather and all, but not when I don't have the attire for it! ;_; I don't even have that much winterwear to begin with....Houston never gets cold enough for me to wear any sweaters. Man....and I used to have all these nice soft sweaters when I moved to Houston from New York....but since Houston's weather doesn't require sweaters, they all sat in my closet until I grew out of them. So now I'm left with nothing...*sob*. BUT....on the bright side....now that I'm in a city that has somewhat of a colder climate, I'll have a chance to get more sweaters! And I'll actually get to wear them!! Bwahahahahaha.....wow do I feel girly talking about sweaters. Bleh. Oky doky, that's it for today....this red turtleneck isn't seeming so bad right now....I could get used to this. :P

The heat is on. It's a battle of wits and cookies. So Deran's been studying for his bio exam. I just took mine today. I decided he needed a motivation to do well on his exam. So we made a bet. The conditions: he needs to either score higher than me, or he can score at the most 10 points lower (since his prof gives really hard tests). If he wins, he gets the rest of my koala cookies. If I win, I get all of his Chips Ahoy. Who will win? We'll find out soon enough....bwahahahaha.
Oh, and an amusing point of my day...Deran pointed out that if you say "aminoacyl" really quickly, it kinda sounds like "a mean old asshole". XD

But anywho.....I've had a good weekend....ate more good food yesterday when Gee Lee's mom came to Austin and cooked for everyone. ^_^ Tell your mom I said thanks again, Gee Lee! After lunch at Gee Lee's everyone went back to their respective homes to either study like good lil' boys and girls or be lazy bums and sleep. I would apply to the former...haha, even though I was falling asleep while I was reading about the wonderful processes of DNA replication. *adjusts halo* So after that lil' break.....MAH JONG NIGHT!!! All I can say about mahjong night is that is was fun, and that it definitely needs to happen again. ^_^
*Whew*....alrighty, so that about sums up yesterday's events. As for today.....Mason yet again taunts me with the fact that he has Kingdom Hearts, and I don't. ;_;

I want a silver claddagh ring. And no, I DON'T watch Buffy. -_- I just like the symbolism behind it....and it looks cool. ^_^ I used to wear a ring on the middle finger of my right hand, but it broke off...even though it's been a couple of years, it still feels kinda weird not having a ring on there....blah. I've got this weird thing where once I put on a piece of jewelry, it doesn't come off. My watch, my jade ring, my jade bracelet....none of it ever comes off. You could call me while I'm in the freakin' shower and I could tell you what time it is. :P Haha, oh well....anywho, I've had a good day so far....it's Friday, I had good food with friends, got a long distance phone call (thanks Alvin!), took a nap in a comfy bed....life is good. ^_^

W00t!! After a week of midterms and quizzes, I'm back in my room relaxing to some Frank Sinatra. ^_^
Anywho...I've had a good morning. Had a good breakfast consisting of a caramel macchiato and an apple cinnamon muffin. And most of all, I got done with my history midterm! I didn't think it was that bad. At first I was feeling like my cousin Alex here when I heard that the essay would be 70% of my grade:

oWmAeNgGa: over and over and over again
But...it wasn't that bad! :D The short answer questions were pretty easy, and the essay prompt didn't kill me....I was able to write a good 4-5 pages about the changes in slavery and race relations in America. Oh well....I'm not going to get my hopes up TOO high, but the point is that my midterms for this week are over!!!! ^_^
But anywho.....you'd be surprised with how much crazy stuff happens at dinner time. O_o;; Just a few points from last night:
1) HA....and people thought I was wacky for peeling my bananas from the non-stem side....at least I don't eat my apples with a friggin' fork! *koff*Deran*koff*
2) A note to Leanne: stop hating on the anime fans! I've got too many anime fans that read this blog....badmouth anime again and I'm sure you'll get a whole posse flaming you for it. *eyes narrow with a glint*
3) I'd like to thank both Colin and Deran for demonstrating to me what a family dinner in Hong Kong is like....it was an umm.....enclosing experience. :P I'll be careful not to get a chopstick in my eye. :P
But anywho....my philosophy TA session has been canceled today because we just took the midterm this week. So that means I get an extra hour to hang around before my next class. What am I going to do with that hour? Why nap, of course. ^_^

Alas, Deran has sabotaged my playlist once again. I've had this playing on loop along with Black Humor....hehe. ^_^
But aside from that...something I learned last night....some things carry more significance than you'd think. You just don't realize it until later on. So I guess the lesson there is that I shouldn't take on the idea that just because some things are ephemeral, they don't matter. Life's too short to brood over things endlessly, but it doesn't mean that you can't stop to give credit to the people that care or see what's really around you.
But anywho....I just took my philosophy midterm....and I can say right now is: DAMN DEAD GREEK MEN TO HELL!!
Argh.....I couldn't distinguish which quotes were said by Aristotle and which were said by Plato. Blah....oh well...it's over and done with now....now I just have to worry about my chem quiz tomorrow and my history midterm on Friday. ^ ^;;
Oh yes....and my story of the day. Candles are forbidden in the dorms. But I have some anyway. So I lit one last night when Steph was here to study for philosophy. Deran walks in and points out right away that there's a candle lit in my room and that I'd have to fork over 50 bucks if anyone catches me with it. So I moved the candle from my stereo to my desk. Then my hallmate Mirla knocks on my door to borrow my copy of Battle Royale. When I turn around to get the CD for her, I see Steph laughing suppressed laughs and Deran's sprawled out in an unnatural position on my bed with his Chinese book held out in a weird way in front of my desk.
Steph: *laughs suppressed laugh*
Me: (to Deran) Ummm....do you need help or something? *attempts to take Chinese book out of his hand*
Steph: *mouths something*
Me: O_o?
So anywho, I finally handed Mirla the CD, and when I closed the door, Deran and Steph simultaneously start babbling to me the fact that I had a candle lit in my room and that Deran was trying to cover it up for me with his Chinese book while Mirla was at the door. ^ ^;; Aren't I observant....
But anywho...that's all that I'll write for now....I blame the dead Greek men for killing my brain this afternoon. -_-

*Hugs blanket closely*.....we've got a cold front here in Austin! ^_^ Temperatures have dropped to the 50s, and I'm loving it. ^_^ There's nothing better than curling up in a warm blanket after walking around outside....or coming in for a nice, warm cup of hot cocoa or tea....or wearing a nice, soft sweater....hehe, it's the simple things in life that make it that much more enjoyable. ^_^
But anywho....I've got 2 midterms this week!! GAHHHHHHHH!!! *Sigh*.....I hate how I've taken 3 tests so far in college and I haven't made an A on a single one. ;_; I've always been one of those people with the "A's or nothing" mindset....it gets so frustrating when I can't seem to get there. :( *Sigh*....well, whining about it isn't going to help me get those extra points.....I'm getting back to work, then I'm off to that sweet land of slumber.... :P

Wow. I watched this Korean chick flick called My Sassy Girl. And here's the scary part: I liked it!! It was really funny....some parts were kind of cheezy, but it all came together really well in the end. ^_^ It's not your typical overly-sappy romantic comedy...it had a lot of good gags and it had its touching moments. ^_^ I can see why so many of my friends (both male and female) have been poking and prodding me to watch it. ^_^
On the other hand.....ever eat chicken wings at 2:30 am? I never have until now. I never tried Vanilla Coke either until now. Wow....today's been chock-full of new experiences, eh?
Oh yes.....and here are my words of wisdom for today: if you see a cookie, ASK first before you take a bite out of it. One of my poor friends (whose name shall not be revealed) made the mistake of randomly biting into someone else's cookie. S/he just grabbed it and bit it. Little did s/he know that the cookie had been sitting in a trash can for a good 2-3 minutes. S/he's in good health right now, but his/her mental state on the other hand is unraveling from all the teasing and joking.....and I fear that s/he may pop and kill us all one day. Soooo...the lesson is...question the cookie before you take a chomp. :P
